Yesterday, Wil Wheaton ([livejournal.com profile] wilwheaton2 on LJ) pointed to Chris Hardwick's (of MTV's Singled Out fame) musical efforts, which include his Rock Opera based on the movie TRON ("I've got a frisbee on my back. I can use it to defend or I can use it to attack!"), a bluegrass cover band of Radiohead, Rodeohead, and an amazing melodica (yes, the woodwind/piano instrument thingy) cover of the Propellorheads' "Spybreak" as featured on the Matrix soundtrack (namely, when Neo and Trinity take the lobby), Melodicatrix.

[livejournal.com profile] ludditerobot just pointed the way to A Million Love Songs, a mp3blog which happens to include two nostalgia-inducing songs--the first, Tracey Ullman's "They Don't Know," which for some reason I recall she recorded under a different name, leading me to scramble online to figure out if that really was Tracey Ullman trolling supermarket aisles in the video.

The second, quite possibly the most cheese-tastic thing in the entire post, Michelle Pfeiffer and Maxwell Caulfield singing "(Love Will) Turn Back the Hands of Time," complete with the mid-song snippet of dialogue from Grease 2 ("It all seems so unfair! Just when I found you, I lost you."). That it evokes memories of a papier-maché/foam-core clock flying from Michelle Pfeiffer's hands and disappearing far off on the horizon makes it just slightly more cheesy than her spell-singing "I wanna C-O-O-L R-I-D-E-R" at the end of that eponymous song.
