If you are really wanting to take drugs to sleep and don't really have like physical problems my suggestion would be an over-the-counter drug called Simply Sleep. If you do have headache, back ache, general ache you can't go wrong with Tyenlol PM. Good luck.
I've realized, based on my own experimentation with Benadryl, Tylenol PM, and Nyquil, that the problem isn't the getting to sleep, it's the staying asleep.
I've been getting up around 6:00 AM everyday for the past two weeks, when I usually don't have to be up until about 8:00. Once I'm awake and aware at that 6:00 AM mark, however, my thoughts tend to keep me up :(
