I've been a member of Netflix since April of 2000, when the Coffee Achiever suggested I join to take advantage of my then-brand-new Apex multi-region player, complete with "YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE" hidden menu (of course, I've only ever watched two non-region 1 discs). In my time with Netflix, I've rated 837 movies/discs. In the process of running through those ratings, I queued any movie that was well-recommended and accumulated a list pushing 450 discs.

While that number has since gone down to about 350, since I picked up the TiVo, my Netflix account has become what is likely the ideal account in the eyes of their executives: several months of inactivity while seldom-watched discs gather dust on my coffee table.

I think one of the problems here is that my queue's just too huge. So I'm offering y'all a chance to recommend your favorites to me. Pick 3 favorites from the list of 100 movies below, and tell me what movies I should keep on my queue. Regretfully, I've never really refused to see a movie, so I've seen some real stinkers, too--tell me what movies I should absolutely remove from the queue. Assume, for the moment, that I haven't seen any of the movies in the list. I'll be doing this two more times, and with your help, I'll end up with a far more manageable queue.

"The Court Jester," "Stalag 17," and "Night of the Hunter."

Also, purge "Freeway" from your list, because nobody should have to sit through that piece of crap.

Cool. I was beginning to think that people didn't really care enough to wade through a list of 100 movies. This still might be true, so I'm going to make this into a poll.

Also, purge "Freeway" from your list, because nobody should have to sit through that piece of crap.

LOL

I say:
Frantic
Good Morning, Vietnam
Chris Rock

Tho I have to admit to not having seen the majority of movies that you list. Those 3 are awesome.

Well, you know, I guess I can allow a little leeway here and there for more than three movies...

I've seen both Jaws and Aliens like 200 times each.
