Pronunciation: 'ma-l&-pr&-'pen(t)-s&-tE
Function: noun
Etymology: Mrs. Malaprop
: an often intense natural inclination or preference for vocabulary misuse
In recent years, journalists have developed a malapropensity for the word, "literally."
